2011 Nantucket Maritime Festival

The Nantucket Maritime Festival followed the Coastal Communities Conference on Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 10a.m. to 4p.m., celebrating the joy of living on an island and time-honored maritime activities on and by the sea that surrounds it. Boat races, shucking contests, kids' activities, music, food, and a lighthouse tour arere only a few of the events that will make for a day of fun for residents and visitors of all ages. This free, family event is sponsored by the Egan Maritime Institute (devoted exclusivley to celebrating Nantucket's seafaring heritage) and reMain Nantucket.
